About

One therapist, and the time to do the job

Aura is run single-handedly by Steph, qualified for 13 years and practising in Edinburgh throughout.

Meet Steph

The same person, every visit

I graduated from Mary Reid International Spa Academy in July 2013 as their Student of the Year, and I have worked in beauty and spa therapy in Edinburgh ever since. Aura is the practice I built out of that: a single private treatment room in Liberton, with one therapist and no rota.

Why one therapist matters

Working alone changes the appointment. I know what worked for you last time and what did not, which shoulder is the problem one, and which products your skin did not get on with. Nothing has to be explained twice, and there is no incentive to sell you a course of treatments you did not come in for.

Qualified and accountable

I hold full membership of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and complete continuing professional development every year. That membership sets the standards I practise to, including how client records are kept and how complaints are handled.

How I work

Three things that do not change

  1. 1

    Your appointment is your appointment

The room is yours for the time you booked. You are not moved to a different therapist, and the treatment does not get cut short because the next client arrived early.

  2. 2

Honest advice about what to book

If a thirty-minute massage will do the job, I will say so rather than sell you an hour. If what you need is a physiotherapist rather than a massage therapist, I will say that too.

  3. 3

    Nothing happens without your say-so

Pressure, products, areas worked on — all of it is checked with you first and can be changed at any point during the treatment.

Come in
